Breadcrumbs are a type of navigational element that displays the hierarchy of the current web page.

If you have a page that is the child page of a different page, for instance, the breadcrumbs would probably look something like this when you’re viewing the child page:

Home → Parent Page → Child Page

Breadcrumbs are frequently, but not always, included in WordPress themes. When they are, they’re usually displayed in conjunction with the page title, near the top of the page. There are also WordPress plugins that allow you to customize and output breadcrumbs on your site.
